We focus on two main activities. These include research work and aquaculture development in rural communities. We conduct assessment and provide scientific advice to better manage fisheries resources.

The core activities of the Division

  • Collecting scientific data such as stock assessment and monitoring;
  • Manage and develop aquaculture in rural communities;
  • Identify and explore potential areas for rural fisheries development and;
  • Formulate effective scientific materials and information for fishers.

RELEASING OF TILAPIA JUVENILES

AQUACULTURE DEVELOPMENT
Aquaculture development is an ongoing activity that help assist communities in rural areas to improve livelihood and food security. It is also supporting fisheries management in the communities. The photo shows a first ever pond liner being installed at Onesua Presbyterian College, in Shefa province, North of Efate.
AQUANETIX APPLICATION

Rolling out of Aquanetix application is a milestone for the aquaculture industry. This is to collect and capture the aquaculture information and farming operation information that was never collected before.
